During our stay in Poland we went to the nearby Bieszczady Mountains with a goal to reach the peak of the highest mountain on the Polish side - Tarnica. Its height is 1,346 meters and it takes around 3h to conquer it if you take the blue trail from Wołosate.
We started our trek early in the morning, with beautiful weather conditions and a very nice spring signs blooming everywhere.
There were four of us - Mama, Hazel, Denny and me. We parked in Wołosate, near the entrance to the trail, got our tickets and started the hike. At the beginning we passed by a long sunny meadow to reach the forest where the actual climb starts. It's not too steep but it's also exhausting when you go up and up all the time.
The trail thru forest takes slightly above one hour and then we reach the połoniny level, which is the name of the mountain meadow above the forest level in Bieszczady Mountains. There was still some snow left after the winter, but the temperature was pretty warm as the sky was clear and sun was very strong
After a short rest at the saddle just below summit, we reached the peak of Tarnica mountain to enjoy a magnificent views.
